Self-criticism and self-blame play a significant role in maintaining anger, anxiety, and trauma problems. Compassion-Focused Therapy is cognitive-behavioral and mindfulness-based approach that is designed to assist individuals in learning how to relate to themselves and ongoing struggles with compassion and kindness. While this approach may sometimes initially appear paradoxical to those who experience inner criticism and self-blame as effective motivators for action and behavior change, the result is increased happiness, well-being, emotional balance, and true behavioral improvement. We offer in-person sessions in Toronto and remote sessions for anyone in Ontario.
